Atheros Communications (ATHR) shares traded lower after hours on weaker-than-expected guidance for the fourth quarter.
For Q3, the WiFi chip maker posted revenue of $247.1 million and non-GAAP profits of 67 cents a share, about in line with the Street at $248.4 million and 67 cents.
But the company told investors on the post-report conference call that it sees Q4 revenue retreating to a range of $220 million to $225 million, with non-GAAP profits of 48-51 cents a share, below the Street consensus at $251.6 million and 65 cents.
ATHR this afternoon is down 90 cents, or 3.1%, to $28.42.
