The esteemed libertarian of our time strikes again. Yesterday evening, presidential candidate Ron Paul said he aims to bring the Republican Party back to its “founding principles of limited government.”
Essentially, he is trying to save the Republican Party from themselves and dissuade them from settling crises by going to war. He wants to get them back to their roots and traditional teachings.
Ron Paul was quoted on CBS News' Face the Nation saying that he believed the Republicans had dug a hole for themselves because they are too focused on trying to “out-militarize the President”. Paul believes America's real threats are economic.
This Texas congressman has done a superb job attracting an entire generation who are excited to hear his message of liberty, freedom, less war, and curtailing the Federal Reserve. And he's adamant about continually moving forward in his efforts oh getting the Republicans back on the right track.
“In some ways they say, ‘well why don’t you give up and this will help the Republican Party.’ The truth is I’m trying to save the Republican Party from themselves because they want perpetual wars, they don’t care about presidents who assassinate American citizens, they don’t care about searching our houses without a search warrant and these are the kind of things that people care about.”
In Paul's Face the Nation interview, he also highlights the fact that we have spent far too much time and money on the war in Afghanistan. According to Paul, “We went in there improperly. It was a waste. There's not going to be a happy ending.”
Meanwhile, 75% of Americans side with Ron Paul on this issue. After ten years of thousands of innocent deaths, calamities, and an overwhelming financial burden to our country, the majority of Americans – along with Ron Paul – are ready to exit this war once and for all...
So while many experts believe Mitt Romney will receive the party's nomination, Ron Paul's views and values seem to resonate among the masses. His ideas and goals are gaining popularity with every passing minute.
