How These Companies Are Boosting Profits

In this video, part 7 of 11, The Motley Fool's Brendan Byrnes and author Lisa McLeod discuss several companies that have a "noble purpose" in their organizations.

Lisa offers up Procter & Gamble (NYSE: PG  ) as a solid example. Under the leadership of Jim Stengel, she says, through "focusing every single brand on making a difference -- improving the life of the consumer," it experienced record growth for a decade. Additionally, she mentions Whole Foods Market (NASDAQ: WFM  ) as another popular brand well-known for practicing "conscious capitalism."

She also discusses a Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB  ) company, Meridian Systems, and its "noble sales purpose" of wanting to, as their Purpose Statement claims, "help build a better world." Since implementing this purpose statement, the share price has increased 27% in the past year; 19% in the past six months.

The key, Lisa claims, is that it starts at the top. "It changes the narrative. That's why it's senior leadership's job to do that."

It's hard to believe that a grocery store could book investors more than 30 times their initial investment, but that's just what Whole Foods has done for those who saw the organic trend coming some 20 years ago. However, it may not be too late to participate in the long-term growth of this organic foods powerhouse. In this brand-new premium report on the company, we walk through the key must-know items for every Whole Foods investor, including the main opportunities and threats facing the company. We're also providing a full year of regular analyst updates to go with it, so make sure to claim your copy today by clicking here.
