Three Small Cap Stocks Surging (and With No Pumping Activity): WFWL, ELED & TRDX

Small cap stocks Wi-Fi Wireless Inc (OTCMKTS: WFWL), Energie Holdings Inc (OTCMKTS: ELED) and Trend Exploration, Inc (OTCMKTS: TRDX) surged 47.06%, 25% and 12.50%, respectively, last Friday. However, none of these small cap stocks appear to be the subject of paid promotions or investor relations activities – something that could be a good thing for investors who are not traders. Keeping that in mind, are these three small cap stocks going to be winners over the long term? Here is a closer look to help you decide on an investing or trading strategy:

Wi-Fi Wireless Inc (OTCMKTS: WFWL) Reads Its WiFi My City Program

Small cap Wi-Fi Wireless offers customized solutions and will build a network from the ground up. On Friday, Wi-Fi Wireless surged 47.06% to $0.125 for a market cap of $4.87 million plus WFWL is up 318.1% over the past year and down 16.7% over the past five years according to Google Finance.

What's the Catch With Wi-Fi Wireless? According to various disclosures, no transactions have occurred to mention Wi-Fi Wireless in various investment newsletters. Last Monday, Ted Abrams, chief technology officer for Wi-Fi Wireless, gave an interview with AGL Small Cell Link to explain how his company's WiFi My City program will be able to deploy successful municipal Wi-Fi networks, while others have failed. Earlier this month, Wi-Fi Wireless announced that in conjunction with its WiFi My City program, it had completed a final round of due diligence to assist the cities in Arizona, California, Illinois and Michigan that the company has made presentations to and have been working with. Wi-Fi Wireless is now moving forward to initiate and complete a designed, engineered, and operating proof of concept City WiFi Network. Otherwise and on May 7th, Wi-Fi Wireless announced it had acquired the necessary components to lay the groundwork for implementation of its municipality wireless network program. After a year of testing and several months of network integration design, WiFi Wireless said it was prepared to present their concept to several interested cities in California with expectations to expand the program on a national scale. A quick look at Wi-Fi Wireless's financials reveals the most recent ones date from the end of 2011 on Yahoo! Finance – meaning its investor beware.

Energie Holdings Inc (OTCMKTS: ELED) Has Had a Few Recent Name Changes

Small cap Energie Holdings is focused on acquiring and growing companies that provide specialized LED lighting solutions to the architecture and interior design markets. What's the Catch With Energie Holdings? According to various disclosures, no transactions have occurred to mention Energie Holdings in various investment newsletters. Last Thursday, Energie Holdings announced that through its wholly owned subsidiary, Energie LLC, it had recently received exclusive rights for the rapid expansion of distribution in North America from Regent Beleuchtungskörper AG, a pioneering Swiss developer of LED energy efficient lighting systems. Apparently, Regent has developed several LED product families that are targeted at meeting North American LED lighting demands and Energie intends to launch several of those product families in 2014-2015 while the product families scheduled for launch by Energie in 2014-2015 are the Channel LED, Flow LED and ITEM LED. The press release noted:

The Company's exclusive agreement with Regent for these new product lines represents an estimated additional $10 million in revenue to the Company over the next several years and is just one step in its plan to substantially increase its revenues as a public company by leveraging its existing relationships through additional product offerings and strategic acquisitions.

However, investors should be aware that until early February, Energie Holdings was known as Alas Aviation Corp and until August, the company was known as LMK Global Resources. Energie Holdings has also reported no revenues; net losses of $116k (most recent reported quarter), $4k, $4k and $3k for the past four quarters; and no cash to cover $39k in accounts payable at the end of last September. Given those financials and all the name changes, investors might want to take a wait and see approach with Energie Holdings.

Trend Exploration, Inc (OTCMKTS: TRDX) Has Seen Spurts of Activity Since Mid February

Small cap Trend Exploration or Preferred Distribution, Inc. is or was involved in the supply of products for medical, dental and veterinary communities. On Friday, Trend Exploration rose 12.50% to $0.0009 for a market cap of $80,000 plus TRDX is up 800% over the past year and down 70% over the past five years according to Google Finance.

What's the Catch With Trend Exploration, Inc? According to various disclosures, no transactions have occurred to mention Trend Exploration in various investment newsletters. Moreover, there is no news about Trend Exploration on the Google Finance and Yahoo! Finance newswires nor are there any financials. So its hard to explain why Trend Exploration has been seeing off and on activity since mid February like the 12.5% jump last Friday.
